Synopsis:​​

​

In 2006, Jonathan Littell wrote a shock novel, Les Bienveillantes, a raw, violent plunge into the horrors of the Holocaust as seen through the eyes of a fictional character, a Nazi officer involved in the Final Solution. The documentary seeks to go beyond the scandal, to decipher an unprecedented novelistic undertaking, which poses highly topical historical, moral and artistic questions.
