ETTY, the new series written and directed by Hagai Levi (Scenes from a Marriage, The Affair, Our Boys, Betipul, In Treatment), is in post-production!

In Nazi-occupied Amsterdam, a young woman begins therapy. Her name is Etty Hillesum. At 27, driven by a deep desire to live, Etty embarks on a spiritual and emotional journey, which she will document in her diary—later published after the war. In it, she records her fears, hopes, spiritual awakening, and, above all, her desire and love for Julius Spier, her psychoanalyst, whose encounter will change her life.
Filmed in contemporary Amsterdam, the series creates a fascinating dialogue between past and present, revealing how Etty’s struggle and search for meaning still resonate today. ETTY poses a timeless question: how do we find hope in a hopeless world?
